Baghdad, The head of the normalization body, Iyad Bunyan, revealed the memorandum submitted to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in support of the Basra Gulf 25 file.
Bunyan told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that he submitted a memorandum earlier to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in support of the Basra file by hosting Gulf 25, pointing out that there is great interest from the government in the success of the Basra file and with the great support of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Captain Adnan Darjal, who raised the issue directly in the cabinet meeting.
He indicated that Iraq cut the half way through Basra’s obtaining the honor of hosting the 25th edition of the tournament after directly supporting the State of Qatar by withdrawing from the race to organize the next championship, and thus the ball is in our court to complete all logistical matters to host the tournament in Basra.
He explained, so far we have not officially received a date for the visit of the Gulf Committee to Basra, stressing that Iraq is very interested in completing all the remaining deficiencies and there is enough time for the next edition to be exceptional in Basra of Love, since the government pays great attention to the tournament and the Sports City is fully ready and al-Minaa stadium is about to open. The file was missing only a few touches.
It is noteworthy that the Qatari Federation announced yesterday its withdrawal from the race by hosting the Gulf Arab 25 and confirmed its support for the Iraq file.
