AMMAN, Jordan, Qatar will provide around 1,000 jobs for Jordanians, in the next two months, Jordan’s Minister of Labour, Samir Murad, said, Tuesday.
The minister made his remarks, in a statement, following a meeting with Qatari officials in Doha, where he said, a committee was formed between the two countries, to secure jobs for Jordanians, after Qatar recently pledged to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanians.
“The job vacancies will be in various sectors of health, education, construction, agriculture and financial sector,” said the minister.
He added that, the ministry will soon announce the mechanism, and how Jordanians can apply to benefit from the vacancies.
Last month, Qatar announced that, it would provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanians, in addition to a package of investments, in infrastructure projects in Jordan, valued at 500 million U.S. dollars.
