Baghdad, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Iraqi-Kuwaiti committee will be held early next year, noting that Kuwait praised the role of the Iraqi government in promoting security and stability and adopting balance and positive neutrality.
“The State of Kuwait praised the role of the Iraqi government in enhancing security and stability, and adopting positive balance and neutrality while taking into account economic openness and expanding the scope of investment companies as a way to achieve this,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf told the official News Agency.
He added that the Ministry is committed to proactive diplomacy and reinforces the role in positive neutrality, indicating that coordination, joint work and the sustainability of dialogue are ways to develop common interests.
He pointed out that “the challenges are multiple and we devote windows to dialogue with all parties to enhance the security and sovereignty of Iraq.”
He explained that “the Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered the message of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to the Emir of the State of Kuwait,” stressing that “Kuwait highly valued the visit of the Iraqi delegation and the support of relations.”
He pointed out that “the challenges of the Corona pandemic were present in the files of the multiple meetings, appreciating the role of the Kuwaiti government for its support for Iraq in this context.”
He stressed that Iraq welcomed Kuwaiti efforts to resolve the Qatari-Saudi dispute, noting that dialogue, rapprochement and awareness of common challenges are a pathway to strengthen the Arab position.
He indicated that there is Gulf-Kuwaiti happiness about the development of relations with Iraq, and the electrical connection.
He explained that the Iraqi-Kuwaiti joint committee will hold its meetings early next year, and that there is an Iraqi-Kuwaiti decision to overcome the obstacles facing the work of the joint technical committees, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries.
Al-Sahaf stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination on the status of the region, indicating that the Abdali port enjoys common interest between the two countries for the purposes of commercial transport and commodity exchange.
He pointed out that the State of Kuwait shares our interest for its companies and the private sector to have a pivotal role in supporting the economy market in Iraq.
