Iraq tops the list of neighboring countries in importing goods from Iran

Baghdad – Spokesman for the Iranian Customs Authority, Ruhollah Latifi, confirmed that Iraq topped the list of the 15 countries neighboring Iran in terms of importing goods during the period from March 21 to November 20, 2021.

Latifi said in a statement today, Saturday, that during the mentioned period, Iraq imported 21.636 million tons of Iranian goods, worth 6.133 billion dollars, followed by Turkey with 11.351 million tons, worth 3.768 billion dollars, and the UAE 7.289 million tons with 2.935 billion dollars.

He added that Afghanistan came fourth in the ranking, with 3.057 million tons and 1.271 billion dollars and Pakistan 1.866 million tons with a value of 764 million dollars, referring to the rest of the arrangement of neighboring countries in importing goods from Iran, namely Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

He explained, that liquefied gas, oil derivatives and petrochemicals, respectively, accounted for 50 percent and 40 percent of the volume and price of Iranian goods exported to neighboring countries in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, and the rest included foodstuffs, agricultural and industrial products, construction materials and metal.
