Iran: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has vowed ‘severe punishment’ in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes, which he labeled as a ‘heinous crime’ against the Iranian people and leadership.
According to Qatar News Agency, Khamenei issued a statement through the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), condemning the attacks. He accused the Israeli regime of targeting residential areas and emphasized that the Iranian military would not let such actions go unanswered. The Supreme Leader acknowledged the death of several senior military officials and scientists in the strikes, but assured that their deputies and colleagues would immediately take over their responsibilities.
Khamenei concluded his statement by asserting that the Israeli entity has set a painful fate for itself by committing this crime and will be compelled to face the consequences.
Additionally, Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi confirmed that Iran’s military is prepared to deliver a strong and decisive response. Shekarchi declared that Iran’s retaliation is inevitable and warned that the enemy will incur a heavy cost for its actions. He also highlighted that multiple commanders had been killed and residential areas targeted, asserting that Iranian forces remain on high alert and ready to respond.
