The Directorate of Intelligence and Security in the Ministry of Defense announced today, Thursday, the arrest of three accused of kidnapping, threats, trafficking in mercury, and forging official documents.
A statement by the Directorate said, “With various and separate duties and a precise intelligence effort, the detachments of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security in Babylon Governorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, were able to arrest one of those wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article (421). He carried out many kidnapping operations and the threat in the Musayyib district, after he was lured from Baghdad Governorate to the Alexandria district through a precise ambush, and he is considered one of the most prominent goals of the Directorate.
In a related context, according to the statement, “After obtaining judicial approvals, a person accused of trading in mercury was arrested in the Al-Musayyib district of Babylon Governorate, and 7 kilograms of this substance were seized in his possession. They were confiscated and he was referred for investigation.”
The detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate, in Al-Saadoun area in the center of the capital, Baghdad, arrested one of those accused of forging official documents, documents, and books, and he was handed over to the competent authorities fundamentally.
