MADLSA Announces Launching Online Platform for Qatarization of Private Sector Jobs Soon

Mr. Abdullah Musalam Al Dosari, Assistant Undersecretary for the development affairs at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA), said that a huge online platform allowing Qatar jobseekers to look for jobs would be launched soon. He added that the private sector companies also could set required jobs within the framework of implementing the draft decision to increase the ratio of Qataris (to 60%) of workers in state-owned companies or in which the state is contributing, and other entities subject to the retirement and pension law.

Mr. Al Dosari, during a press conference he held at the Ministry’s headquarters yesterday’s morning, clarified that governance could not be imposed on the private sector and promotion law could not be imposed on the sector, because the private sector companies in this way will turn out to be government companies. In this context, Mr. Al Dosari means that the private sector is “state-owned companies or in which the state is contributing, and other entities subject to the retirement and pension law.”

Mr. Al Dosari added: “Any employment contract may not be approved at MADLSA unless a comprehensive review is conducted to identify a citizen who has features qualifying him for jobs in state-owned companies or in which the state is contributing, and other entities subject to the retirement and pension law.”
