Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al-Nuaimi has called on institutions in the community to adopt plans and projects that benefit women with disabilities to ease their integration and enable them to exercise their rights and duties.
Speaking at the Third Doha International Blind Conference on the topic ‘Blind women are partners in building and development of society’, the Minister urged the community to promote and protect the rights of women with visual disabilities and develop their human, social and economic situation by dealing with them on the basis of their ability. He also called for their empowerment in order to make them financially independent, which will enable them participate in community development and affirm their right to live a normal life.
Dr Al-Nuaimi said the conference reflects Qatar’s keenness to support the visually disabled women in their social life, adding that the event also shows that Qatar is always ready to provide all care and unique service for the disabled as their basic human rights.
