Al Thumama Stadium, designed by Qatari Engineer Ibrahim Jaidah, Chief Architect of Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB), has won the best stadium design award for the sports facilities and stadiums under construction category, during the 17th edition of the MIPIM/Architectural Review Future Project Award.

The ceremony was held in Canne, in conjunction of the international exhibition MIPIM for real estate and projects, and this makes Al Thumama Stadium the first stadium in Qatar to receive this prestigious award, in the presence of more than 20,000 distinguished personalities specialized in architectural engineering.

The design of Al Thumama Stadium was chosen to win the award due to the development of the technologies used, as well as, being in line with the civil planning, meeting the requirements of the surrounding environment and its connection to the social development goals in Qatar. In addition, the design of Al Thumama Stadium combines the authenticity of the Arab culture and traditions, and the Qatari in particular, with the developed technologies, besides the social and development heritage the stadium will leave when the FIFA World Cup 2022 is concluded.
