President of Singapore Halimah Yacob has commended the UAE model for peaceful co-existence, and valued the efforts made by the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, under its president Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, to establish a global culture of peace.
The Singaporean president made the remarks while receiving today a delegation of the Forum who included Dr. Hamza Yousoff, Forum Vice-President, who hailed the cultural pluralism and peaceful co-existence model provided by Singapore, which, he is, is coupled with impressive urban, and economic achievements that made the Asian country a model to be copied across the world.
The delegation briefed the Singaporean president on the Forum’s activities, and the details of its 5th annual edition, slated for December under the theme “Alliance of Virtue: An Opportunity for Global Peace.”
The delegates reviewed the efforts made by the Forum to explore concepts of peace and how a renewed way of thinking can be shaped about developing an ethical framework that brings together an alliance of virtue.
