Doha, The Organizing Committee of the 12th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Doha is currently preparing for the tournament, scheduled for March 20-23, with a record of 58 countries and a total of 230 players participating for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The Organizing Committee seeks to organize the 12th edition in an amazing manner, after the success of the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in October 2018. The Organizing Committee started the preparation to get Aspire Dome ready, which will be the main venue for the competitions, as well as two training rooms.
The Libyan delegation, which is participating for the first time in the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, arrived in Doha on Tuesday. The Libyan team will hold a camp in Doha before the official launch of the championship in an effort to utilize their practice time.
President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation Ali Al Hitmi announced on Tuesday that the Organizing Committee is currently arranging all the procedures and dates for the teams that will arrive in the coming days in order to give them the opportunity to train before the tournament. He noted that many countries confirmed their early arrivals and the Organizing Committee received requests from countries for holding camps in Doha.
The Committee welcomed all delegations and confirmed that all requirements will be provided, whether it was for training grounds, equipment or other matters.
Al Hitmi said that the Organizing Committee indicated that 58 countries will participate in the 12th edition, a record number, but some teams had difficulties in participating.
Al Hitmi highlighted that seven Arab countries will participate in the tournament: Morocco, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Libya, as well as the Qatari national team. The tournament also includes a number of world stars, he added.
