In the framework of implementing the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on promoting the human development sector by supporting and attracting Qatari talent in various fields, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has issued directives to increase the allowances of students enrolled in “Tomouh” program.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging Qatari students, as well as Qatari women’s children, carriers of Qatari documents, and Qatar born children to join the Tomouh (Faculty of Education) program.
According to the Prime Minister’s directives, Qatari male and female students’ allowances for this program will be as follows:
– Students with major in English or Arabic language, mathematics and science are to receive an allowance of QR10,000 a month.
– Students in other disciplines are to receive an allowance of QR8,000 a month, in addition to all allowances and other benefits specified by the government scholarship program, such as the one-time QR5,000 computer allowance, and the QR5,000 books allowance for each academic year.
As for non-Qatari children of Qatari women, Qatari document holders and Qatar born students, tuition fees of the “Tomouh” program will be paid for the whole scholarship term, in addition to QR3,000 per month instead of QR3,000 per semester.
